it was the neighborhood sun some years ago. It was bright because it was the dominant mass (no greater gravity to compete so it radiates)
when sun grows all orbit lane changes, for a brief moment it was a binary system and planets orbited both
in the end with sun growing it sucked out matter from Saturn and the new equilibrium is this configuration.
rings are younger, they are inner ejecta.

rings are like vinyl grooves with some "harvested" lanes by greater asteroids there and their black holes.
